The Coleraine community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Samantha Dougherty, who passed away peacefully on 25th January 2026. Her departure has left a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew her, yet her memory continues to shine through the love she shared, the laughter she sparked, and the lives she touched.
Samantha, of 16 Woodburn Crescent, was the devoted mum of Corey, a role she cherished above all else. To her parents, Norman and Valerie, she was not only a daughter but a source of pride, joy, and unwavering affection. As a loving sister to Scott, Sophie, and Stephen, she brought warmth and connection into every family gathering. Her nieces and nephew—Oliver, Leah, and Chelsea—knew her as the auntie who always showed up with open arms, a bright smile, and a heart full of love. She also shared a deeply meaningful bond with her partner, Andrew, who stood by her side through life’s joys and challenges.
What makes Samantha’s story resonate so deeply is the way she lived—quietly, kindly, and wholeheartedly. She was the type of person whose presence made others feel seen and valued, the kind of soul whose absence is felt in every corner of the community.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at her home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 noon, a time to share stories, tears, and memories that keep her spirit alive. A Funeral Service will be held in Killowen Parish Church on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery.
